Parent Involvement
At Bencubbin Primary School, we value the strong partnership between home and school. Parent and carer involvement plays an important role in supporting student learning, wellbeing and school life, and we welcome families to be involved in ways that suit their time and interests.
Volunteering at school
Parents and carers are encouraged to support classroom learning, particularly in the early years. Reading support opportunities for Kindergarten to Year 2 are coordinated by classroom teachers, with timetables displayed outside classrooms for families to select times that work for them.
We also welcome parent and community assistance during sport lessons and special activities throughout the year. Where support is needed, families will be notified through school communication channels.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is an active and valued part of the school community. New members are always welcome to assist in any capacity, whether through attending meetings, helping at events or supporting fundraising activities.
The P&C has proudly supported the school through the purchase of resources such as library books, sports equipment and musical instruments, and also runs the popular school tuckshop.
School Council
The School Council meets approximately three times per year, with members holding positions for a three-year term. Each year, an open meeting is held where community members are welcome to attend and learn more about the work of the Council. Calls for nominations are shared through school communication channels.
