Curriculum & Learning
At Bencubbin Primary School, we provide a balanced and engaging curriculum that supports students to develop strong foundations in learning while building confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.
Our teaching programs are aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and are designed to meet the needs of all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We place equal importance on academic learning, wellbeing and belonging, recognising that how children learn is just as important as what they learn.
Learning areas
Students engage in a broad range of learning areas, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, and Design and Technology.
Specialist learning opportunities further enrich the curriculum and may include The Arts, Cultural Studies, Languages Other Than English (LOTE) and music programs.
Learning beyond the classroom
Students are provided with opportunities to participate in sport, cultural activities, excursions and special events throughout the year. These experiences support teamwork, confidence and personal growth, while strengthening connections between learning and real-world experiences.
At Bencubbin Primary School, we focus on supporting the individual learning needs of each student through high-quality teaching, targeted support and opportunities for extension, ensuring every child is encouraged to reach their potential.
