Communication
At Bencubbin Primary School, we recognise that clear communication is essential to supporting strong partnerships between home and school. As no single method suits everyone, we use a range of communication channels to keep families informed and connected with school life.
Families can expect to receive information through the following channels:
Class Dojo
Used by teachers and administration to share event details, posters and respond to short, specific questions. Any changes or corrections to dates and times are communicated through Class Dojo.
Compass
Our primary platform for schoolwide communication, including the school calendar, policy and procedure updates, Department of Education communication, excursion and incursion forms, and messages from the Principal.
Used to share upcoming events and general information with parents and the wider community.
Letters
Important year-level or major school events may be communicated via formal letters when appropriate.
Communication expectations
We value open, respectful and constructive communication between home and school. Families and staff share responsibility for creating a safe, supportive and positive school environment.
Parents and carers can expect:
- Clear and regular communication through our nominated platforms
- Opportunities to meet with teachers by appointment
- Responses to enquiries within a reasonable timeframe during school hours
To support teaching and learning, we ask that:
- Communication remains respectful at all times
- Complex or sensitive matters are discussed through a scheduled meeting
- Classroom time is protected so teachers can focus on students
For full details, please refer to our Communication Policy.
Staying connected with Compass
Compass is our primary communication platform, helping families stay informed and connected with school life.
Through Compass, parents can access newsletters, student information, important updates, and school events all in one place.
